June 23-26 - Five World Premieres!
Lone Star Lyric's 5th season celebrates the "Grimm" side of fairy tales with four chamber operas and a Broadway-style musical. All are new works by American composers based on unsweetened tales from the Brothers Grimm. Performed by a cast of Houston's best singers and actors, pairs of fairy tales will be presented in repertory style over the four-day Festival period. An operatic prologue introduced each pair. Step into our storybook and be transported to a strange world where unlikely heroes and ditsy damsels live happily ever after ... sometimes ... if they're lucky.

The Man Who Studied Fear - Book & Lyrics by Mark LaPierre, Music by Paul L. Johnson - Twisted humor enlivens this oddly sweet musical about an outcast unable to feel fear who somehow ends up with a princess and a kingdom. June 24, 26.
